School Garden

ABOUT

The Creekside Vegetable Garden is a hands-on learning garden, organized and funded through CPO, located in the back of the school where all of our students participate in garden-based lessons. Our garden is cared for and nurtured by our students, faculty and staff, and community.

Classes plant all of the crops in the spring. Creekside Summer Garden Families take care of the garden over the summer. When students return to school in the fall, classes harvest the vegetables they started growing the prior spring. Produce is eaten at school, brought home by students to share with their families, enjoyed by faculty and staff, and donated to local community food banks.

CPO helps make the garden possible. Parent volunteers work closely with faculty and staff to plan what will be grown each year as well as to support class lessons in the garden.

Plant list:

Lettuce, beets, onions, chard, sugar snap peas, radishes, kale, green beans, sunflowers, squash, cucumbers, pumpkins, tomatoes, carrots, parsley, shiso, cilantro, basil, strawberries, and plenty of pollinator flowers.
